Members of L1769 have just completed a 12-week fitness competition that was held at Cynergy Training in Hanson, MA. Lieutenant Timothy Grenno and Firefighters Tom Ford, John Norton, Josef Kenealy, Mike MacCurtain and Pat Travers started the challenge on January 7th and took their final test on March 28th.



Whitman Firefighters competed against firefighters from Duxbury and Marshfield and the police officers from Rockland.

In the Cynergy test (21-15-9 of Squat Thrust, Push Ups, Sit Ups and Squats) we were tested on the first day and the last day. Tom Ford was able to take an astonishing 12.04 minutes off his original time!

We were also tested on weight, body fat and waist size. Joe Kenealy lost 8.75 inches and dropped 3.2% body fat!



Whitman Firefighters were also able to walk away with the title of Best In The Team Challenges award! Top honors however went to the firefighters from Marshfield, who did an amazing job and walked away with the 2008 trophy.
